Glenn Storey

Open Water Scuba Instructor

Here I’m just ascending from yet another perfect dive at Osprey Reef North Queensland October 2009 (Perth Scuba’s, Great Barrier Reef Tour) if you look closely you will see my pride and joy held very Glenn on the Great Barrier Reefsecurely against my chest, yes my trusty Canon 50D SLR camera in a Aquatica underwater housing with just the single strobe on this dive.

Which brings to mind just one of many memorable dives to date, this particular one being at the North Horn “Osprey Reef“ feeding the sharks. We were literally only a few meters away sitting on a rock watching countless sharks going berserk, when a very large moray eel decided to wrap itself around my right calf while he was on his way for a free feed, I have the Photo!! J

I must say the worst dive I ever had was at Pt Walter November 2007 night dive. My first and very much loved underwater housing flooded, killing my point and shoot S80 Canon camera.

First ever dive for me was in Bali doing a discover Scuba in 2002. I loved it, and got my O.W certification in early 2003, but didn’t dive again until a little dive shop open up right across the road from my work in Canning Vale. Yes the one and only “Perth Scuba “Everything changed from that day on.

I was content with my diving about twelve months ago (April 2009) just over 350 dives, weather it was taking Photo’s with my Camera, catching Cray fish off Rottnest or Prawns in the Swan River (by the way, the Swan river has to be one of my favourite places to dive locally no matter what the weather is doing any time of the year you can go dive in the River, (as long as there not dredging Fremantle harbour that is!!) I was an advanced diver with a Nitrox specialty who loved to go down to the Swan and Perth wrecks in Dunsborough and Albany. Until my dive buddy from work Mr Rudge said lets go to the Pro night at Perth Scuba and see what all the fuss is about. Once again everything Scorpion fish by Glenn Storeychanged from that night on.

We did our Rescue (June 2009) than sign up straight away to become a Dive Master, which give me a whole new insight into diving. The day we finished and became a Dive Master we signed up to go on the IDC course then IE. So here I am a newly fledged Perth Scuba Instructor life’s good.

If anybody would like to see the photo of the Moray eel wrapped around my leg, or would like me to tell them about the 3.5m thresher shark we played with at Fingers in Albany, or you might like me to show you the bright red Scorpion fish of the Swan River on a night dive.
