When did you Go Pro: Qualified as a Divemaster 16th August 2009 Diving locations outside of Australia: Vanuatu 2007 and Egypt 2010 Favourite Dive sites in WA: Shark Cave at Rottnest Island, Swirl Reef at Rottnest Island, The Wall at Sunday Island in Ningaloo, Crystal Palace at Rottnest, Bundegi Sanctuary in Ningaloo. Best Ever Dive: MMMM that’s a hard one I’ve had so many. Shark and Yolande, Ras Mohammed National Park in the Red Sea is my new favourite. You drop off the back of the boat into 800m+ of 29ºC crystal clear water, there isn’t too much you don’t see on this dive soft corals, hard corals, fish galore and you round the corner and finish the dive on a wreck, how good is that!!! Worst Ever Dive: Very early in my diving career during a night dive with my sister in law. We had just done a gauge check, I thought, when I took the last breath out of my tank. Rather than grabbing my sister in laws alternate air source as she was too far away I made the choice to make a CESA from 12m. Not something that I’d recommend and have never come close to doing again. Why You Love Diving: My favourite dive in WA is definitely Shark Cave, hovering in the cave with 18+ Grey Nurse Sharks swimming around you or straight at you coming close enough that they rub against you is an amazing rush, being so close to these beautiful sharks is why I love diving so much. Cruising around the ocean observing sea life in their natural habitat taking their photo and moving on to explore more of their world feeling at one with the ocean is my release from everyday life, just the sound of my bubbles passing by my ears or if I’m lucky the sounds of whales singing in the distance. The other thing I love about diving is introducing others to the other world beneath the sea, seeing the smile on their face after leading them on a dive and having them say “I can’t believe I just saw a sea horse” is a big rush for me.
