| Directions: | Northern point of Dirk Hartog Island, just to the east of the Cape Inscription Lighthouse. The main bit of reef runs out from the beach just east of the old jetty pylons. This is about 20 Nautical miles from Denham and is exposed in northerly weather. This is rare but caution is required. The crossing from Denham is good in most conditions. In rough seas head across to homestead bay and follow the coast up. unless you are experienced in offshore boating use one of the many charter boats working out of Denham. |
| Dive Site Information: |
This is a flat topped limestone reef that projects out about 500m in to the waters of the bay. The sides range from 1 metre high to 3 metres further out. A wide range of life lives along the walls and in the many nooks and crannies with in the limestone itself. The base of the ledges grade into rubble and then into the fine white sand which makes up the beach. As it is close to shore a surge develops towards low tide that can make the closer in section unpleasant. Along these walls there is a number species of hard and soft corals offering some great photo opportunities. A wide range of fish are also seen. A survey done in south passage at the southern end of the island reported 323 species of fish. This end does not appear to be much less. The beach is a nesting beach for loggerhead turtles and they are often seen in the waters of the bay. Dolphins, sharks, whales, manta rays and whale sharks are also seen in this area. The large fish feeding event in early 2001 which featured hundreds of sharks, Brydes and humpback whales and large pelagic fish was between this reef and cape Inscription. |

| Directions: | The only island at the entry to the South Passage some 300m offshore from Steep Point itself. Dive site is to the north, ranging from 6m to 30m+. |
| Dive Site Information: | A quick motor around with an echo sounder will locate either low coral broken bottom or walls of coral descending in depth the further out to sea you go. Expect to see whaler sharks, large cod & grouper and a variety of smaller tropical reef fish. If you are lucky you will see mackerel, whale sharks and various tuna. |

| Directions: | GPS: S 25°45.73, E 113°04.77 Northern end of Louisa bay on the eastern side of Dirk Hartog Island. Anchor in sand on western side of patch. A good protected site in a westerly. |
| Dive Site Information: | Large and diverse area of corals. Includes Porites, Turbinaria, Acropora and several soft corals. While a shallow dive it provides the opportunity to have a long poke around and see what is about. Lots of baldchin grouper, angel fish, damsels and beaked coral fish. We have also had nice sized whaler sharks swim through from time to time. |

| Directions: | Eagle Bluff is 30 minutes before Denham on west side the Denham Hamelin rd. The turn off is well signposted. Follow the dirt rd, for 4 km and take the left hand turnoff. If you miss the turnoff you will head up to the lookout Where you can see the site from anyway. From the car park go down to the beach and follow it along to the right to the base of the cliff enter here. Entering direct off the beach can lead to a bit of a wade through old sea-grass drifts during summer. |
| Dive Site Information: | This is verging on a snorkel but there is so much to see scuba makes it easier. The site can be done in something of a loop. Swim out following the rubble line at the base of the cliffs. Great muck style diving with many chitons, some corals and lots and lots of fish. once you get around the other side and want to head back swim out to the sea grass lines and follow that back. Here you can see many big schools of coral trout, tuskfish and lots of other fish. Seasnakes, dugong, dophins and sharks are sometimes spotted here. There are a couple of bommies with hard corals amongst the seagrass beds |

S 25 deg 20′ 08″ E 113deg 20′ 49″ 8 miles off the Peron Peninsula in the western gulf on a direct line from Denham to Sandy point on Dirk Hartog. The coral is surrounded by sand and there are rubble and sand areas to anchor on to avoid damaging the reef. Site is in the Shark Bay Marine Park. |
| Dive Site Information: | The area is patchy corals over sand. It is a popular fishing site so care is needed (make sure you have flags up) and some of the larger fish are missing. Lots of anemone fish, coral trout, bald-chin grouper. Corals are wide spread with lots of sponges as well. Like many Shark Bay sites it is shallow but that gives you more time to see what’s about. |
