The key to survival for any person who has suffered Cardiac Arrest is having somebody nearby who can call for help and perform basic life support (CPR) Often bystanders don’t know how to perform CPR or do not telephone the appropriate Emergency Services who can provide advance life support (i.e.: equipped with a defibrillator to correct the heart rhythm). People are often too afraid of making things worse to try to help. First aid is a legal requirement in most businesses and activities.Nationally Recognised Training

When you attend your First Aid Course you will not only learn when & how to call the Emergency Services you will also learn how to perform CPR and treat many emergency accident and illness situations. The victim could be a close friend or a member of your family. There are many diseases and accidents that affect rescuers and with the right knowledge, you will know how to protect yourself and the victim and stay safe. By learning the basics now before the need arises, you will be prepared to handle whatever comes your way.

Emergency First Response First Aid at Work-Asia Pacific is a CPR and first aid course specifically designed to meet workplace requirements in the Asia Pacific region. Occupational health and safety legislation in many countries stipulate that businesses must have first aid trained personnel on staff and the Emergency First Response First Aid at Work (Asia Pacific) course can be used to meet this requirement.

To ensure consistency between the various CPR/first aid courses that are currently being offered there are course approvals processes or vocational training guidelines that must be met.

In order to meet existing local workplace requirements in Australia, the Emergency First Response First Aid at Work (Asia Pacific) programme is based on the consensus view of Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) as well as the guidelines published by the Australian Resuscitation Council.

It is designed primarily for teaching workplace first aid in Australia.

Only a current, Teaching status EFR First Aid at Work Instructor or Instructor Trainer (trained in the Asia Pacific edition) is authorised to teach this course.

Emergency First Response First Aid at Work (Asia Pacific) is a CPR and first aid course specifically written to meet workplace requirements in Australia where occupational health and safety regulations stipulate that businesses must have first aid trained personnel on staff.

PADI’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO) mapped the First Aid at Work course to meet both workplace requirements and the following Nationally Recognised.

This course was previously known as Senior First Aid, Workplace Level 2 or Level 2 qualification. This is the advised minimum requirement by Workplace Health & Safety Legislation for the workplace first aider.

Training units of competence from the Australian vocational Health and Outdoor Recreation Training Packages:

  • Perform CPR
  • Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
  • Apply First Aid
  • Provide First Aid

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Duration & Award

The trainee is required to do self-study at home approximately 5 hrs prior to the classroom training, which is based on 40 multiple-choice questions that will assist you to get know the content of the course in their own time as well as prepare you for the face to face (7hrs) training in the classroom. The content of self study will be discussed again in the classroom.

On successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a statement of attainment, which is valid for 3 years.

As per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines Perform CPR unit needs to be completed every 12 months.
