Enriched Air Nitrox

The Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty teaches the use of enriched air to saferly extend allowable no decompression limits, using up to 40% oxygen. You'll learn the benefits of EANx as well as how to safely handle oxygen rich gas mixes.

Why Nitrox? Three words --- 'more bottom time'. On a 20m dive on air the allowable bottom time is 45 minutes. With a 36% Nitrox mixture the allowable bottom time is 95 minutes, and many divers report less fatigue after diving with Nitrox. Isn't it time you made the switch to Nitrox? Contrary to popular opinion, Nitrox is not used for deep diving. Instead, the optimum depth range for Nitrox is from 10m to 34m. The only equipment that needs modification is your tank. These must be upgraded for Oxygen service and labeled with a Nitrox label. Once modified, the tanks can be filled with Nitrox.
 

The minimum age for enrolment is 15 years and you must be a certified diver with a minimum of 10 dives. However, no additional dives are required to complete this course. The course will train you to safely dive with mixed gas and allow you to dive for longer with less chance of you getting decompression illness. Mixed gas diving has been used by military and commercial divers for many years it is now readily available for recreational divers so why not take advantage of what it has to offer.
