Are you interested in ship wrecks? If so then this is the dive course for you. the PADI®Wreck Diver specialty will enable you to demonstrate practical wreck diving knowledge, show you how to safely explore wrecks by enabling you to identify hazards of wreck penetration and demonstrate the techniques and procedures to minimize those hazards.
During your PADI® Wreck Diver programme you'll go on four open water dives, which may be conducted over at least two days. This is where you'll put in to practice the information you gained from listening to your instructor and from the PADI® Wreck Diving Manual and/or video.
Topics covered include:
The planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems & hazards of wreck diving
The preparation & use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines & reels
The elective dive conducted during the Adventures In Diving programme may be counted toward this specialty.
*Wreck penetration-training dives are limited to within the light zone and within 40 metres from the surface, vertical and horizontal distance included. If the wreck used for training is located in deep water (over 18 metres), the Deep Diver rating is recommended as a prerequisite for the PADI® Wreck Diver programme.
