Scotch on the Rocks minus the scotch

Written by Adam Booth – Perth Scuba PADI Divemaster

A glorious warm 35 degree day greeted the manta club divers this Sunday 13 April 2014, after having some bacon and egg rolls and a short dive brief we headed to the dive site of the day North Mole in Fremantle in search of the Gareenup wreck.

Once geared up and another short dive brief and all importantly the club photo we had a bit of fun abseiling down to the waters edge where we put our fins on and jumped into the lovely warm water were the vis was around 6-8m.

For the lucky few that found the Gareenup, they came across small schools of fish, a couple of bulls eyes and a few cardinal fish. For me and my lucky dive buddy we came across a fierce man eating baby Port Jackson shark (Editor’s Note: Awwwww adorable!!!!).

To top a great dive off we did a bit of adventure rock climbing back to our cars to de-gear. All in all a great little dive on a lovely warm Autumn day with a great bunch of Manta Club Members.
