Tek
Welcome to Perth Scuba Tek!
This area has been designed by Marc Van der Poel – Our resident TDI Instructor Trainer and PADI TEC REC Instructor Guru. Every week Marc adds new articles and information about technical diving. He has discussions on topics of interest and he provides advice based on emails received and real life experiences. There is a lot more to Tek than just twin tanks and Marc will guide you through the various levels of dive training, places to try, special dives which have been planned for those qualified to do them, new products and lots of information to assist you in taking the direction you want to go. This area is your technical diving key to a world that offers a whole new world of diving… Over the next few weeks Marc will be adding a lot of information to this site “Tek Talk” with everything from bubble formation and the consequent decompression theory, to the origins of the original Haldanian table models and an explanation of how it all works.
Next Week Marc will be sharing some controversial articles showing views from all over the Tek Diving circuit. Next week he will be publishing a copy of a scathing article written by George Irvine on the birth of the 20/80 mix, (find out if he is in favour or against and why?) He also has an article on “Deep Stops” by the famous Erik Baker. (the value of deep stops now being re-thought ) Is PDIS really as good as Uwatec says? And is RGBM flawed? Lets look at the theory behind the models and just exactly where things just don’t quite add up. On a lighter side – We will look at Cylinder markings and what do they mean? We’ll have some cool photos of Cave and Cavern diving and share some stories of both good and bad times in the Cave Diving scene.
