Blackwall Reach night dive looking for wrecks

Blackwall Reach night dive looking for wrecks

Wednesday 6 November 2019

Manta Club divers at Blackwall Reach

Last night we dived at Black Wall Reach. With the temperature warming up we had 6 divers keen to get underwater. After a brief the decision was made to check out the wrecks so we started our surface swim to buoy 716.

After dropping down we followed the chain to the end then found the first barge. We did a lap or two and found lots of big crabs and a few sea horses. We then went to move on to the small boat but found the rope was missing, so we pulled out the compass and did our best to find it. After nearly head butting the small boat we swam over it and started to follow the pegs to the cabin cruiser. Not long into the trek the viz disappeared so we headed south east back to the cliffs to see what we could find.

We followed the cliff back in, finding lots of little squid and cobbler. After 50mins we headed back up the slope and found ourselves at the entry point.
