Jurien Bay sealions by Ian Robertson - Scuba2Perth Scuba is proud to announce it will be hosting the Perth Underwater Photographic Society’s (PUPS) lecture on Composition by Ian Robertson. It will be held at Perth Scuba, 180 Bannister Road, Canning Vale on Monday 21st February 2011 @ 7pm. Call us on 9455 4448 to let us know you’ll be there or email [email protected]

This will be a fantastic evening where Ian Robertson from Scuba2 has donated his time to give us an insight into what makes for great Composition. I’ve seen Ian’s lecture before and it’s well worth a look.

Ian started underwater photography in the mid sixties with a Nikonos I with bulb f…lash and advanced to a 28 mm lens in the 70s. Near the end of the last century he bought/was given a fleet of Nikonos Vs, (4 in all) with an SB 104 for 15 mm wide angle (see above) and an SB 105 for macro. All this was using film (Fuji Provia 400 for big stuff and Fuji Velvia 100 for macro).

In mid 2009 he stumbling into the digital age, with a Canon G10 in a Patima case, with an Inon UWL-100 wide angle lens and twin Inon Z-240 strobes. This switch marked a sudden change in both his operating and photographic style.

Everyone with an interest in Underwater Photography is welcome to come along. PUPS will be showing the lecture in our brand new Theatre with the huge high definition projector (I’m sure Lee only got it to watch Avatar!).

We’d love to see you all our budding underwater photographers there!
