Conditions looking good at Hillarys North Wall

Wednesday 6/1/16 was the first manta club night dive of the year and as conditions were looking good we decided to finally have a crack at Hillarys north wall.

We had 15 keen divers none of which had dived this site before including myself, so it was going to be a little unknown. After we geared up i did the usual briefing then following a great sunset we made our way onto the beach and into the water.

Immediately we noticed there was a fair few stingers in the shallows so we made a descent and attempted to get past them, however a few of us did get stung.

Once onto the wall and a bit further out the jellies thinned out and we started to investigate the rocks in more detail. We found Stripey, Crested Morwong, Damsel fish, Cobbler, Nudibranchs and lots of crays.

The visibility was a little a average and the depth maxed out at around 6m but it was still cool to try out a different spot. Even if after getting stung on the lip i looked i had had botox!

Great to have such a good turn out with a few new faces!
