Cottesloe reef on Easter Sunday

Everyone arrived at the shop on Easter Sunday 27 March 2016 for a sausage sizzle and hot cross buns. Due to the low winds Dom suggested we go to Cottesloe so after breakfast I gave a dive brief then we made our way down.

Once we arrived we made the trek down the stairs and into the water. The site has a wreck at 6m (lost in 1839) past the main reef but only a couple of guys managed to find it. The rest of us surface swam until we had some depth. Once we hit the reef made our way north looking for crays. Not many crays but the site was full of red-lipped morwong, king george whiting, old wives, talma, wrasse, banded sweep, scalyfin, occys, schools of skippy and buff bream.
The viz was great about 10m, little surge but picked up later in the dive and the water temperature was 22 degrees. Great shallow shore dive for Perth, the only downside was the stairs on the way out!
