Live the Dream by becoming a PADI Dive Instructor

Are you currently a PADI Dive Master interested in taking the next step to become a part of the best dive Instructional dive team in WA?Perth Scuba PADI Instructor Development Course-0144

Are you ready to take the plunge and become a PADI Dive Instructor with WAs number one dive training centre?

If you answered yes to these questions, then this is all about YOU!

On the 10th of September, Perth Scuba will be conducting our next Instructor Development Course to prepare us for the upcoming diving season. So far we have 7 candidates for this intake and they are all going to make fantastic Instructors. YOU could be on the same IDC and be teaching new student divers as early as the first week of October…. Interested?

Perth Scuba IDCs are designed to fit in with the busy lifestyles that active people tend to have.

Our english speaking Course Director, Garth Schumann has trained more instructor candidates this year than any other Course Director in WA and has a course format available to ensure that candidates have the greatest opportunity to learn and excel to reach their goals without a gruelling 2 week –  12 hour a day training regime. Garth’s Philosophy is to teach and learn in a comfortable no stress environment and to develop instructor skills to go along with the skills and methods of training you picked up in your Dive Master course at a comfortable pace. The Perth Scuba IDC runs over a 9 day period which includes 2 weekends. The course is structured so that candidates only need to take 5 days off work making it an easy course to take part in. All Instructor candidates are trained to be Emergency First Response Instructors prior to the commencement of their course to allow for a 1 day break inside of the 9 day schedule for revision and for additional time to hone skills and even get out for a recreational dive with the other candidates.

The EFR instructor course is a valuable training asset and one which will come in very handy in the instructor’s diving career. If you are already Certificate IV in workplace training and assessment, EFR Instructor candidates can even apply for “EFR in the work place ” certification with the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) PADI. This will allow the instructor to teach workplace first aid courses to all staff and management in what is a fully recognised certification First Aid course. If the Instructor candidate then chooses to go beyond this level, they can become an Instructor Trainer in EFR.

The Perth Scuba IDC also has many added benefits which are designed to make the instructor candidates “Dive Industry employment ready”. The option for the instructor candidates to qualify as specialty instructors in as many as 11 different dive specialty areas, gives them the opportunity to begin teaching these specialty courses the minute they  become qualified Instructors without the need to build up,diver certifications to “self certify” at a later date.

Perth Scuba offers the Master Scuba Diver Trainer package which for an additional $995, the instructor candidate will be trained in 5 specialty courses of their choice to become instructors in these specialty courses. To achieve the rating, Perth Scuba will guarantee the Instructor’s first 25 diver certifications to take them to the MSDT level. The cost of this is fully inclusive of all training, certification and registration costs with PADI. the certifications are done in a way that new instructors can share responsibilities of teaching with one of our already qualified and teaching instructors to “find their feet” with the support of one of the Perth Scuba instructional team members by their side.

All certifications from these courses go straight to the newly certified instructor until they reach their 25th certification where they can be awarded with their MSDT rating by Padi. The cost of this is also included in the $995 package.

At Perth Scuba we make sure that our Instructor candidates once qualified, are course ready by giving them the opportunity to teach as soon as they are able to do so.

Again, the newly certified instructors will assist one of the Perth Scuba Instructors teach Open water, Advanced and Rescue courses so they can see how the courses are run and the logistics involved in doing them.  This ultimately prepares the instructors for the courses ahead whether it be with Perth Scuba in WA or a dive centre at the other side of the world. That is one of the great things about PADI diver training.

At Perth Scuba we employ 100% of our successful instructor candidates. The more specialties an instructor has and the more they are willing to be a part of the team, the more employable they will be. We believe that OUR instructors have the best training available in WA today and that our vision and standards are shared with our instructor candidates during our Instructor Development Course.

Perth Scuba also caters for Japanese Instructor Candidates. Our Japanese Course Director Yasu Taniguchi, is able to schedule Instructor Development Courses on request and can fit into any busy schedule.

All Perth Scuba instructor training is conducted in our Career Development Centre in Canning Vale or at our  Japanese training centre in Perth City.
