Twenty descend on Point Peron

written by Adam Booth – Perth Scuba PADI Divemaster

Another glorious Sunday 7th December 2014 greeted us this weekend and after a breaky of snags and rolls cooked by the our very helpful DMT John we headed off to the dive site of the day Point Peron.

20 of us gathered at the dive site and after gearing up and heading to the beach for a group photo and a final little briefing from John he hit the water.

The water temp was lovely especially on a 32 degree day and the vis was around 4-5m.

Point Peron is a great site and for those lucky to find and explore the caves around the area we were able to find many things, this included crabs, crayfish, starfish, rough Bulls Eyes and even a couple of sweeps.

Swimming around in the weeds we saw Stripey’s, Old Wives, Toado in massive schools, Western King Wrasse, large schools of Western Striped Trumpeter¬†and even a few¬†Western Whiptails.

It was another great dive with a great bunch of Perth Scuba club members.

Shout out to John for your great help and I’m sure we will see you in the water as a DM very soon.

Catch us next week as we head to the grain terminal for another great dive.

Editor’s Note: Nice pics Adam! That’s a big school of fish so close to shore – awesome stuff!
