Excellent dive brief delivered by DM Dane

written by Dane Fielder – Perth Scuba Divemaster

The conditions looked great for my first chance leading the club dive on Wednesday 11 June 2014. I delivered my excellent dive brief promising to see heaps of lion fish, cobbler and crays.

Then we kitted up and  made our way to the beach. When we entered the water the temperature was a chilly but bearable 17 degrees. I set off to tie the dive flag to a dodgy tree branch that sits not far from the wall without realizing a decent sized blue manner was tucked up underneath. After nearly losing a finger we made our way over to the wall, after spending about 15 minutes searching the rocks for crays but only spotting plenty of boring wrasse the guy’s spotted a decent sized crayfish then a nice sized lionfish.

Not long after we decided to turn around and head back to our cars to get in some nice warm clothes and make our way home.
