Kwinana Grain Terminal shows off loads of life

written by Sarah Toohey – Perth Scuba PADI Instructor

The KGT is an old favourite for our Manta Club shore dives with loads of life… Some of which is amazing and others just are weird.

I don’t know where our crowd disappeared to from our last night dives although we were definitely diving with the best tonight, this Wednesday 19 November 2014. Five intrepid bubble-blowers made bad jokes and laughed a whole lot before we finally jumped in the water.

The layer of toad-fish swarms congregating in various parts of the jetty can get a little off-putting as we swatted our way through. Besides these little gangsters, there were octopus feasting on unsuspecting crabs, some very beautiful displays from juvenile cuttlefish and large squid cruising through the pylons.

Despite torch malfunctions, weighting dramas and the general mis-direction the jetty can cause we had a few laughs and another great dive.
