Scuba Gods smile on the Kwinana Grain Terminal

written by Matthias Liffers – Perth Scuba PADI Dive Master

Hypselodoris saintvincentius (Burn, 1962) – the name of the nudi!
The rainy weather throughout the week got me a little depressed, and I have to admit I wasn’t really looking forward to going diving on Sunday. Little did I realise that the scuba gods would smile on us and give us a beautiful, […]

The USS Atlanta Project 130 meters down!

GUE USS Atlanta ProjectWednesday 25 September 2013 6:00pm
The USS Atlanta is a light battlecruiser that was sunk during the pacific battle of Guadalcanal after being severely damaged by both enemy and friendly fire. She lies at a respectful depth of 130 meters. One of the main project goals of the GUE team was to explore and document the wreck and try to create a image of her state and amount of damage. Because of the great depth and challenging conditions (currents and occasional bad visibility) there is no good footage and data of the USS Atlanta available. The USS Atlanta Project Team set out to document the cruiser with underwater photography and videography – a huge task at such a depth! Join Liam on this evening of amazing discover, awesome underwater footage and how they got there – and came back safely! This is a not to be missed event for any diver!
