Point Peron gives a little bit of sunshine

Point Peron gives a little bit of sunshine

Another Sunday morning 20 August and with a little bit of sunshine we had a half decent turn out of divers. With plans to go to Point Peron the decision was made to go check it out. But once at the site the condition didn’t look so great, with the site covered in surge and swell it was agreed to head back to Grain Terminal as the water looked nice and flat on the way past.

At Grain Terminal the water looked great, so we didn’t waste any time kitting up and getting in the water. On our way down the pillars we spotted a few occys, cuttlefish, tiny shrimp, an eel and heaps of different types of nudis. With heaps to see it’s hard to loose interest in the site. The viz was great but we did hit the odd bad spot. It was also a bit chilly but the guys didn’t seem to complain in their 5mm wetsuits.

After about 30mins we turned around and made our way back down the pillars while spotting more nudis, box fish and leather jackets. With no surge and great viz it was a great opportunity for some photography, so don’t forget your camera next time!
