Wowee! What a great way to spend a Sunday morning with low winds forecasted we headed off to Point Peron after the morning BBQ. Splitting off into 2 groups with Gordon leading the newer Open Water Divers we saw a Port Jackson Shark, Nudibranches, baby Cuttlefish, with Trefor spotting a Southern Blue Devil as well! This was also a milestone 60-minute dive for these guys too along with an enchanting mini swim-through that opened up into absolute clarity once you entered, with Gordon acting as traffic warden inside. Heading away from Mushroom Rocks as initially planned as it there was quite abit of surge near the area, we made our way further out to the reefs. With a nice cruisey current bring us back, the swim back to shore was effortless.
Team 2 headed out via the second beach-entry and made their way to the Outer Reefs where they explored a few massive caves, ventured into a few swim throughs, and spotted some crayfish along the way too.
The non-diving partners on the surface were kept occupied by a pod of dolphins swimming past them near the beach as well. Everyone was happy! Water temperature was a beautiful 20degrees, with visibility ranging from 5-10m. All finished up in the afternoon where some divers had to zoom off for their Mother’s Day lunch appointments. See you guys next week!
