Rottnest Island

Cathedral Rocks & Long Cave

Lee and Joey headed out for two dives at Rottnest Island on Sunday. We’d checked the weather report and it looked beautiful, 4 knot winds and 0.5m swell… So of course we booked ourselves on the boat!

We were joined by Andy and Mike, two of Perth Scuba’s amazing Instructors, and their 8 lucky students. Who can complain about learning to dive on a day like this! Plus we had 5 more Perth Scuba Crew to enjoy their day out on the water.

We jumped in for our first dive at Long Caves on the West End – funnily enough the site is full of long caves… There was plenty of cool stuff to find all over the dive site and as we completed our 60 minute dive there was a huge friendly ray at the bottom of the mermaid line – being chased by loads of photographers… One of them could’ve been me ;)

We had our surface interval and lunch and then jumped into the water at Cathedral Rocks. Gorgeous dive site with plenty of swim throughs and heaps to keep you occupied. We found cowfish (left), blue devils, a very friendly wobbegong (okay, truthfully it chased Lee!), Port Jackson shark and SO MANY crayfish!

Needless to say it was a wonderful day out for us and we enjoyed every minute of it. If you’d like to join us, give us a call on 9455 4448 and we can book you on the boat next weekend.
