Spectacular sunsets at the Rockingham Wreck Trail

written by Sarah Toohey – Perth Scuba PADI Divemaster

Shorter days are showing off some spectacular sunsets as the Perth Scuba Manta Club divers geared up for our Wednesday night dive at Rockingham Wreck Trail on 26 March 2014.

After some mad photography skills by yours truly, Divemaster-in-training, Simon Kwong briefed the crew on our evenings dive and the safety procedures before buddying up our team of divers. And what a night, the waters were calm and warm as we paddled out to our first wreck, the MV Target.

The visibility was sensational and the life was abundant, schools of fish teamed through the wrecks, seahorses clung along the ropes joining up each purpose-sunk wreck. All the usual suspects of scorpion fish, globefish, wrasse and eel-tailed catfish and a couple of really big, blue boxfish! Always a dive teaming with life and so enjoyable as each new wreck or bunch of tyres is searched for critters.

Always a pleasure to dive with you all!
