Stingers kept our dive short at Kwinana Grain Terminal

Stingers keep our dive short at Kwinana Grain Terminal

Sunday 19 January 2020

This Sunday , with the nice weather, we were expecting a decent turnout. With 20 keen divers down the shop I got the bacon and eggs cooking. This week we went to Grain Terminal in Kwinana to check out the marine life living under the jetty.

Sunday club dive

Once we dropped down the viz wasn’t the best and we had been warned about the odd stinger along the way. As we swam up the jetty we spotted a couple of occys and a few nudibranchs. The viz did improve a little but it still wasn’t the best for GT. After about 25mins we started to bump into some stingers, so we turned around and headed back in.

On the way in we found a few more nudibranchs and box fish but we were a bit occupied with avoiding the stingers. Once we got close enough to the entry point we surfaced and swam back in.
