Wednesday night dive at Glyde Street

Manta Club night dive

Wednesday 2nd May 2018

This Wednesday night the weather wasn’t the best so we decided to check out Glyde Street Mosman Bay to look for some crabs and prawns. With a turn out of 4 we got our gear ready and made our way out. After a little surface swim we made our descent.

Once down the viz wasn’t too bad and we started to spot some crabs straight away. With a few small ones in the shallows we headed out deeper to look for some bigger in size. The site also had some nice sized prawns around but not really enough for a decent meal. At around 15m we found a few big crabs, but we then hit our turn around point so we started to make our way back to the shallows. On the way in we spotted a large flathead in the sand and got to watch a prawn shed it’s skin.

Back in the shallows we found a few boxfish and a little cobbler trying to hide in the weeds. Once our air got low enough we surfaced and waited for the rest of the group to catch up.
