Lena wreck dive in Bunbury

What is Wrecktober?HMAS Swan wreck in Dunsborough

During the month of October, Perth Scuba and Blue Destiny celebrate the awesome wreck diving opportunities we have here in the west.  We give you the opportunity to not only explore these wrecks, but find out a lot more about them and their history. With over 300 wrecks off the WA coast, its easy to see why we are named the shipwreck coast.

Almost all of us at some time have thought about how great it would be to discover a new wreck.
During the month of October Perth Scuba in conjunction with Blue Destiny plan to dive no less than 13 different wrecks including, the Sepia, Orizaba, Lady Elizabeth, Carlisle Castle, Omeo, Saxon Ranger, Lena, HMAS Swan and HMAS Perth just to mention a few.

Great news…

We want you to join us!

Gallipoli World War I WreckApart from some awesome dives on board Blue Destiny during “Wrecktober” we will also be doing 2 weekenders. One to dive the HMAS Swan in Dunsborough (6-8th of October) and one to dive the HMAS Perth and Cheynes III in Albany on the weekend of the 27th – 29th of October. Along with these great dives and weekenders, We will be kicking off with the Perth Scuba club dive at the Omeo wreck on the 1st of October. We have lots of other “wreckie” things planned including a presentation by MAAWA (Marine Archiological Association of WA) on Friday the 6th of October at 6.30pm in the Perth Scuba theatre for those interested in wrecks, we will be doing a 3D workshop to learn how to produce your own 3D image of a wreck and we will be learning what you should do if ever you find a mystery wreck or just uncover something really cool whilst diving around old wrecks. On top of this, every weekend will be filled with fantastic wreck diving opportunities. There has never been a better time to book onto a wreck diver course.
With summer coming up, we will also be preparing for the upcoming trips to dive the Key Biscayne in Lancelin and the Sanko Harvest in Esperance.
So.. rust lovers, its time to dust off the dive gear, charge up the torch batteries, check the line on your spools and bring out your cameras… It’s going to be a month full of wrecks!!
